Books
The Obesity Code book by Dr Jason Fung
Helps understand the basics of fasting
As a doctor, we’re not really trained in nutrition. We learn Canada’s Food Guide and the basic “eat less, move more” / “calories in / calories out” theories for weight loss. In The Obesity Code, you basically realize why those things don’t actually work in the long run. I found it a bit shocking initially but once you understand the reasons fasting works, it all makes sense!
The Complete Guide To Fasting by Dr Jason Fung and Jimmy Moore
Once you got the theory down, it’s time go get practical
This book delves into fasting's benefits, techniques, and dispels myths in a clear and accessible manner. It equips you with various fasting strategies and insights on managing hunger cues, making it essential for achieving optimal health and well-being. It comes with various fasting protocols and troubleshooting, a perfect way to start intermittent fasting.
Fitness
OrangeTheory Fitness
My go-to fitness solution
I’ve done the “classic” gym thing for quite a while. Over 10 years actually. But when it comes to fitness, I juste hate repetition. Going to the gym with my program, doing the same thing over and over, being there for quite a long time, over 1-2h was not for me. Since I joined OrangeTheory, I just can’t wait to go! Classes change daily, are the same worldwide for any given day, and include walking/running, rowing and strength training so it’s a complete workout in 1h!
Apple Fitness+
Great when you’re on the go or want to vary things
I have an AppleOne membership so I get this included monthly. Works with AppleTV, iPhone, iPad and AppleWatches to get you on demand fitness classes. You can do running, yoga, strength training, rowing, spinning and much more. The classes are challenging and vary from 10 to 30 min so you can create a custom workout for your desired duration. Great when you’re on vacation, in a hotel or cruise ship gym. Works with minimal equipment and the coaches are super engaging.
